March is Nutrition Month, a great time to make small, sustainable changes in your diet.

The Grey Bruce Health Unit and Dietitians of Canada want to help you make a big difference in your well-being by making small changes, one meal at a time. The health unit will be posting tips on social media all month to help make those changes.

Each day presents an opportunity to make small, positive changes to improve our health, the health of our communities and the health of our planet. Each meal presents an opportunity to think about where your food comes from, who prepared it, and how much packaging it has.

This month we will share easy-to-use strategies to help you make and maintain positive dietary changes.

Get started by downloading Dietitians of Canada’s free apps: Cookspiration and eaTracker to get recipe ideas and monitor your goals every day. Take the Pulse Pledge – pledge to consume more legumes, like dried beans or chickpeas, on a regular basis.

There are many perceived challenges to healthy eating – skipping meals, taste preferences, food cost and a lack of time to prepare meals and snacks. Don’t tackle all your challenges at once. Start with one small change, one meal at a time.

Join us on Facebook and Twitter for Nutrition Month tips and strategies. Let’s start a conversation on eating well; share your stories, your successes and inspire others!
