The Municipality of Kincardine is very pleased to announce that Council has approved an agreement with Dr. Daniel Soong to take up his medical practice in the Municipality of Kincardine, July 2016.

The arrival of Dr. Soong will provide much needed relief to the physicians at the Kincardine Medical Clinic who have collectively been shouldering the patient burden that is the result of recent physician vacancies.

Initially, Dr. Soong will practice full-time in the Kincardine Emergency Department for several months during which time he will work with the Physicians Group to establish his practice at the Kincardine clinic.

Dr. Soong said that, "Kincardine is a great rural town with an urban feel to it. There is no shortage or diversity of things to do. But what really drew me here was the support and respect that people have for one another. I am looking forward to being part of this great community and having the privilege of caring for some of you."

Kincardine doctors are very enthusiastic with the prospect of working with Dr. Soong. On behalf of the Physicians Group, Dr. Gurbin expressed "... appreciation for the support of the Municipality and Bruce Power in the recruitment of a physician so clearly suited to our medical needs and with a long term commitment to our community."

Municipality of Kincardine Mayor, Anne Eadie, stated, "As Mayor and as a member of the Physician Recruitment Committee, I am thrilled that we have another doctor coming to Kincardine this quickly. On behalf of Council and our residents I wish to thank all those involved in our recruitment process for their hard work. I would also like to thank the Kincardine Physicians and other staff at the Medical Clinic for making various accommodations to meet the health needs of our residents during the current recruitment process."
