 (L) Jeff Cronin of the Society of Energy Professionals presents donation to Huron Shore Run's John Van Bastelaar

The annual Rotary Huron Shore Run is just around the corner and sponsors are once again lending their support.

The Bruce chapter of 'The Society of Energy Professionals' recently donated $1,000 to the event as it has for many years.

"Donations like this continue to emphasize how important our local hospital, and keeping health care close to home, is to the community," says even organizer John Van Bastelaar. "These funds also go a long way to help us cover the costs of our event so that we have the option of giving the money raised at the event to the local community and the hospital foundation.

The event continues to grow and, this year, organizers are celebrated the 28th anniversary of the Run.

Last year's event (2015) broke all records, both in terms of attendance and funds raised, and it is hoped that this year will exceed even those numbers.

What began as a 'run, walk, roll' event, now also includes a half marathon qualifier, a children's race and a Health & Wellness Fair hosted by the Town of Saugeen Shores at the Southampton Coliseum.
