Youth in detention centre arrested for assault

On March 21, 2016 at approximately 12:37 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended the Pinehill Youth Centre located on Sideroad 6 in the Township of Chatsworth to investigate a report of an assault that had occurred.

As a result of the investigation, police arrested a 16-year old male from Owen Sound for committing an assault on a male staff member at the facility.

The youth was charged with assault, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, and three counts of failing to comply with his probation order and was held for a bail hearing on March 22, 2016.

The accused remains in custody pending a bail hearing scheduled for March 29, 2016.

There were no injuries reported.
