The Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) Southport is hosting world-renowned lecturer, Andrea O'Reilly at the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre on April 13th.

Dr. O'Reilly has a lengthy list of credits to her name, including Professor of Women's Studies at York University, founder of the Association for Research on Mothering (ARM) the first feminist organization on motherhood, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of ARM, founder of Demeter Press in addition to being the author of some 20 books and the General Editor of the Encyclopedia of Motherhood.

 ARM now has more than 500 members worldwide and is recognized as the leading research centre/journal on Motherhood.

Dr. O’Reilly has presented her research at  conferences in over a dozen countries and was a keynote speaker at the National Women’s Studies Conference in 2006 as well as giving numerous talks at universities across North America and Europe .

O'Reilly is also a recipient of the CAUT Sarah Shorter Award for outstanding achievement sin the promotion of the advancement of women in Canadian universities and colleges and has twice received York University's 'Professor of the Year Award' for teaching excellence.
