On Monday, May 23rd (2016), Saugeen Shores Police were notified of two missing children from a residence in Saugeen Township.

Officers responded and learned that two girls, ages 5 and 6, had been playing in the back yard and had wandered off.  The property is surrounded by a wooded area, farm land and a creek. Police and family of the two girls searched the immediate area of the house and surrounding wooded areas.

Saugeen Shores Fire Department (SSFD) were dispatched and responded with two Off-Road Vehicles (ORVís).  An OPP officer and Bruce County Paramedics also attended to assist.

A family member of the girls located clothing belonging to the girls approximately 500 metres from where they were last seen.  Officers converged on the area and the girls were located not far from the clothing in good spirits and unharmed from their adventure. SSFD attended with their ORVís to take the girls, who had lost their shoes, back to the residence.
