"Most people were a bit surprised to have political canvassers at their door with no election on the horizon. But by the same token, they also seemed appreciative when we explained that we were out in the community to ask people how they think things are going with the Trudeau government and if there was any message they'd like to deliver," Thompson posted on social media.

He said that among those the canvassers found at home, most said they were very happy with the direction the Trudeau government has been taking.

Canvassers also took the opportunity to remind people that the Huron-Bruce Federal Liberals are holding an open meeting of the association on Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the Davidson Centre, in Kincardine.

Jeff Renaud meets Allan Thompson

When Kincardine resident Jeff Renaud met Allan Thompson, he told him that he is quite happy with the performance of the Justin Trudeau Liberal government so far.

"Yes, there has been some controversy," Renaud said, "but that's because Trudeau is trying to get something done."
