In this survey there were an inordinate number of multiple votes with a comment that indicated anger and/or frustration.  We counted only one vote whether No or Yes.

Multiple voting .... hmmmm.  You can express your opinion easily in the comments without trying to influence the vote one way or another.  Most people just vote and don't comment.

Not enough sources, but I try

I think stores should stock and highlight local foods/products

I do but am always aware of the prices. It seems many locally produced foods are way over-priced compared to imported food. So wake up local producers!

I try and buy locally .. but with the prices it can be very difficult to do. The bottom line is if its cheeper yes, if not no.

I voted yes BUT often the price influences my choices

We raise chickens and are "flush" with eggs at the moment!

yes i try to buy locally produced food however I also look at prices. I have done without rather than pay some of the high prices.

I do try when local foods are in season and out of season, I check to make sure root and frozen vegetables and frozen fruits are grown in Canada. Wish more vegetables and fruits were grown in greenhouses in Ontario and the supermarkets made more of an effort to stock Ontario grown products. I

when its available. sure miss the tomatoes that were produced down by the Hydro plant. Nice to have the fresh produce from Hi-Berry as it tastes 100% better.

It is frustrating when the only choice is garlic from China.

Always...when possible.

at every opportunity, absolutely

we buy all our fruits and vegetables from local farmers around Saugeen Shores during each growing season, freeze most of it, use it though out the year thus have fresh tasting all year long, never buying the overpriced GMO produced foods from the supermarkets

We have terrific farms and processors in Grey and Bruce Counties. We find seasonal fruits and vegetables are much tastier than out of season and imported product.
_______________________________
I try to,

Yes at this time but things are getting really out of line for an ordinary family. Stores are only catering to the rich seasonal residents.

There's far too much to say about this topic. It would take far more than 400 characters.

Always! So much good food produced right around home.

I try, but it is becoming more difficult with all the large stores selling so much cheaper......saw apples from France in a local store the other day!

The Wednesday Port Elgin farmers market is a great place to get your locally produced food and related products.

Always

We have great opportunities from Mennonites road side vegetable stands to Hi Berry farms. In grocery stores just look for the signs, local produce. I just haven't found local bananas yet.

Is hard to find localproducts
_______________________________
WHY? When they are Double the Price !
_______________________________
Local and seasonal is the way to go. Just because its in the store does not mean its worth buying
_______________________________
Locally produced, means helping local businesses and keeping our money in the area. Why wouldn't you??

Does the back-yard count?

We buy what ever is cheapest. WE don't have government income.
