Southampton is all 'aflutter' heading into the 6th Annual Marine Heritage Festival weekend.
The Festival was launched tonight (July 22nd) at the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre in Southampton and, with warm temperatures, people sat out on the front lawn enjoying burgers and sausage with fries prepared by the Southampton Rotary Club.

Others gathered on the patio overlooking Fairy Lake with a cold beverage to listen to the sultry blues by the Bobby Dean Trio.

Saturday is going to be a full and busy day as the Festival heads down to Pioneer Park. Beginning at 8:00 a.m., Rotary again will be cooking as they host the annual pancake breakfast.
Then, at 9:00 a.m., it's registration time for the fun cardboard boat race that begins at 11:00 a.m. when boat builders launch their creations and hope that they stay afloat.
The fun doesn't stop there however. In the afternoon, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. for children is Captain Sparrow's gold hunt where each gold-hunting child gets a personal certificate signed by Captain Sparrow.
For the adults, there is the beer garden and BBQ lunch and the famous Firemen's Fish Fry dinner.
Sunday rounds off the weekend with a pot-luck supper and Ecumenical Sunset Service in Pioneer Park.
