Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Bill Walker is still concerned about the government's proposal to expand the Niagara Escarpment Commission over lands closer to home.

"This week we learned that we were vocal enough to convince the provincial government to extend hearings on their Co-ordinated Land Use Planning Review to October 31, 2016.

While this is a good first step, I nevertheless remain concerned about the lack of clarity and ongoing confusion over the governmentís current proposal to expand the size of the Niagara Escarpment Commissionís jurisdiction in my riding.

In my conversations with local constituents, I continue to hear concerns over the loss of decision-making control over developments and other negative impacts on Bruce and Grey.

While welcome, the extended consultation period still suggests and even proves that the Government really didnít think its plans through and will need to do significantly more consultation before making any changes."
