Rotary moving forward on Phase 3 at Jubilee Park with splash pad plans

Southampton Rotary is ready to move ahead with the final phase of its Jubilee Park project.

An area has been decided on to accommodate the new splash pad behind the Southampton Fire Hall and adjacent to the picnic pavilion at Jubilee Park.  Two trees will be removed and relocated within the park.

It is anticipated that project construction will being in the spring of 2017 with completion expected in time for the Maritime Heritage Festival celebration of Canada's 150th birthday.

Rotary Assistant District Governor Tony Shear has a new friend ... as yet unnamed

Tony Sheard also introduced a new Rotary furry friend ... as yet unnamed.  Each Rotary Club in the district has been given one of the furry friends that is to travel to every Rotary Club event.  At an upcoming Rotary convention, the furry friends will explain all the events they have attended and will then be auctioned off.

The concept behind the 'furry friend' is to raise funds for Rotary's initiative to eradicate polio world wide.
