Bluewater District School Board is holding a public meeting to receive community feedback regarding the design of the new Grade 7 – 12 school that will soon be built to replace John Diefenbaker Senior School in Hanover.

Members of the community, including students, parents/guardians, staff and municipal representatives, are invited to attend the meeting on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the library of the current John Diefenbaker Senior School.

Approximately $19.5 million in funding through the Ministry of Education’s School Consolidation Capital program has been approved for the project, which is slated to begin this fall on the new build site on 18th Avenue in Hanover.

The facility is scheduled to open for students in September, 2018. Board staff have been working with architects from the Ventin Group Ltd. to develop the preliminary concept design and site plans, which will be presented at the meeting for community consultation prior to further approvals being obtained.
