Saugeen Shores officer points out to the Coroner where the body had been found

On September 19, 2016 at approximately 2:00 p.m. the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a missing kayak operator in the waters of Lake Huron between Chantry Island and the Saugeen Shores beach and worked with several agencies, including Saugeen Shores Police and Fire Services and the Coast Guard in a two-day search.

Early in the morning, on September 22nd, the body of 60-year-old David Counsell of Southampton (Saugeen Shores) was recovered near the historic submerged long dock in Lake Huron. 

In a media release, the South Bruce OPP said that it appreciates the assistance of the media and the public with this investigation.
