OPP looking for Auxiliary volunteers

The Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are looking for suitable local candidates to join their OPP Auxiliary Units.

Have you ever considered what it would be like to be part of an OPP Auxiliary Unit?  Do you think you have what it takes?  Do you have an interest in Policing? Being an OPP Auxiliary Member will help you to prepare for an exciting career in policing.

We will be hosting an evening event at the Bruce Peninsula OPP Detachment located at 50 Berford Street, Wiarton, on Monday, November 28, 2016 at 7:00 p.m.  Come meet some of our Auxiliary Unit Members and officers to learn what the position entails.

 The Bruce Peninsula OPP and Grey County OPP Auxiliary Units are looking for dedicated volunteers who will assist officers with community policing, crime prevention initiatives, community events, OPP special events, general patrol and public service.  You will work in a structured environment and are expected to maintain the high standards of the OPP.  

To apply you will need:

  • To be minimum 18 years of age.

  • Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

  • Obtained your secondary school diploma or equivalent.

  • Certified in Standard First Aid and CPR level C.

  • Be mentally and physically able to perform the duties of an Auxiliary member.

  • Be able to volunteer a minimum of 10 hours a month of patrol or at a community event and 6 hours of training.
