In this survey there were an inordinate number of
multiple votes with a comment that indicated anger and/or frustration.
We counted only one vote whether No or Yes.
Multiple voting ....
hmmmm. You can express your opinion easily in the comments without
trying to influence the vote one way or another. Most people just
vote and don't comment.
Are you willing to pay more
taxes so your services w
Well, I don't know
It would have been better to lower the prices or change the Time of Use
categories. Taking taxes away will help in the short term but lead to
other cuts as less money will be available for other programs.
Smoke and mirrors does little to reduce the cost of electricity
The rebates will not make a difference when cap & trade comes in the new
year plus the increased hydro rate in November. They need to stop
signing more contracts for Windmills when the ones we have already are
costing us more than the energy they produce which is all at the wrong
The rebate will not amount to anything as rates are going up soon and
the carbon tax is on the horizon. Don't forget the tax on the tax too.
The other problem is that the municipal taxes will also rise as town
council likes to waste tax dollars just as much as the provincial
MORE NEEDS TO BE DONE!
Ontario needs to get rid of wind, Solar, Fossil fuel subsidies, get rid
of the Global Adjustment fee of 14 cents per kwh and sell power at the
same rat as they do to Quebec, Michigan and New York at 2 cents per kwh.
Its a start, but we need much more relief from these CRAZY hydro prices
My hydro bill is rarely over $100, I think some people are just totally
irresponsible and clueless.
Agree with rebate but need to address underlying problems with
long over due
It's a tax reduction - they will tax us somewhere else to make it up
We've grossly overcharged, then she gives us this slap in the face
"rebate". Time to put her out to pasture.
The Liberals will only take more from other areas trying to make it look
like they are doing us a favour. Let's face it they [all parties] have
over spent and we are Greece bound.
Just another pull the wool over the eyes.
Far more needs to be done to help our rural friends. Where does she
think her food comes from? Farms need reasonably priced power. She needs
to stop everything she is doing and leave office forever!
We all know it is just another scam to cover up the impending carbon
tax! WE will pay more as usual!
Another dodge to the real problem. Last quarter of 2015 this government
was losing $5 million per day because of excess power caused by
overlapping expensive wind turbines. We presently produce approximately
5,000 KW daily over what we use yet new turbines are still being
approved and built.
Collapsing ponzu scheme where they bribe us with our own tax dollars ;
put money in our right pocket while they take from our left
Carbon tax out of one pocket; buy votes with Hydro rebate in the other
Every little bit helps, plus, people need to realize that current prices
are in part the result of eliminating coal and support new technologies
like wind and solar.
Fix the problem by reducing the cost of electricity....rebates just mask
the problem. The Liberals energy plan is one big fail.
This government is inept, corrupt, dishonest, amoral and certainly not
'honorable'. The electrical system is a mess. Murray Elston of the
Ontario Energy Board should be protesting this 'Green Energy' disaster.
No, because the funds are just going to be exchanged for the carbon tax.
Further, the cost savings is a mere drop in the bucket compared to the
costs being charged.
THEY ARE JUST TAKING MONEY FROM OUR LEFT POCKET AND PUTTING IT IN THE
RIGHT SIDE. Zero difference to us AND THEIR created DEBT CONTINUES TO
GROW TOWARDS THe $300 BILLION MARK. gross "INCOMPETENCE".
I agree, but it is no where near enough to help most Ontarians. The
price increases that are in the forecast wipes out any initial savings.
It is just a sad joke if you think your hydro bill is going to go down.
Giving us the HST rebate of 8% is nothing in the large picture. Less tax
revenue means someone else pays for the loss of revenue. Guess who?
Smoke and mirrors. Buying votes with our own money.
Needs to be priced lower!
It's a start, but the big issue is they need to stop signing renewable
energy contracts for energy that we don't need.
The government will just tax us somewhere else to get the money back.
IT SHOULD ALSO LOOK AT CUTTING EXPENSES WITHIN ALL HYDRO OPERATIONS LIKE
ANY BUSINESS TO PASS ON SAVINGS AND GETTING IT UNDER CONTROL.
Although a rebate has been considered, it is not enough to help the
people who are coping with high hydro bills every month!
These are NOT rebates-removal of the tax means the Premier has another
agenda to get that money. There should be a REDUCTION in the rates and
that would put money back in the tax payers pockets.
The HST money grab, initiated years ago, should never have been included
on heating fuel by this short sited Liberal government. This so called
rebate is not a rebate. It is money that should not have been stolen in
the first place from the people of Ontario.
The Minister said today that a 900 MW reduction in wind and solar, will
save consumers from being overcharged a further 3.8 Billion $. Now, how
about the already excessive rates from what was previously approved? A
rebate while still paying the excessive rates is of no help.
Should remove all taxes and focus on the cause of the high cost,
