On Monday October 24, the Board of Trustees for the Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board accepted the resignation of Trustee Jules Vanhaelemeesch.

Vanhaelemeesch served the board faithfully and professionally for the past 17 years, as Trustee for Saugeen Shores, Arran-Elderslie, Chatsworth, Georgian Bluffs, Northern Bruce Peninsula, and South Bruce Peninsula.

He represented his constituents in an exemplary fashion and was very receptive and responsive to their requests and concerns.

Norm Bethune, Vice-Chair of the Board, worked alongside Jules throughout his tenure. "Jules was proud to be a Catholic trustee and took his position seriously. He was a true ambassador for Catholic Education in Bruce-Grey, had a quick wit and ready sense of humour which helped lighten up many situations. Jules was noted for 'cutting to the quick' of problems and situations and made steady and reliable contributions to challenges and opportunities which presented themselves. He worked very collegially and collaboratively with his colleagues and Senior Administration who will miss him very much."

Chair of the Board, Bev Eckensweiler, shares Normís sentiment. "Jules has been an integral part of our board and I thank him for his contribution to Catholic Education here in Bruce and Grey counties. I will miss him."

Director of Education, Jamie McKinnon, adds his respect and appreciation for Jules, and his contribution to our Board. "Although I have only known Jules for a short time it was clear that he cared deeply about students and Catholic Education. We will miss his candour, humour, and authentic concern for the well being of students. BGCDSB has been blessed with his service."
