The theme for this year's Women's House Gala held on October 15th, was the '30th Anniversary Grammy Awards' ... and there were definitely 'Grammy celebrities' present.
The event raised $28,000 for the Women's House Serving Bruce and Grey.
The evening featured high-quality dinner entertainment provided by “Maggie, Mike and Paul”, and evening entertainment provided by DJ Joe Carter. Dinner was provided by Everywhere Catering and was a huge hit! Guests patiently waited for the Golf Simulator to open as this was a brand new feature this year. Again, the trivia game was a major hit!
The elimination draw was once again the highlight of the evening. The winners of the draw were:
The silent auction was again a great success raising almost six thousand dollars. The live auction had some new packages this year and generated $6200. A special thank you goes out to our Special Guest Auctioneer MP Ben Lobb. Thank you to all of the great businesses in our communities who believe in, and support, this great event!
Along with the excitement generated by the draws and the anticipation of final bidding efforts was a sense of charity. Women’s House is gratefully supported by residents of Grey and Bruce Counties and could not provide services without fundraised dollars.
“We certainly could not have obtained these successes without the support from our Prestige Sponsors: Bruce Power and Greenfield Specialty Alcohols; and our Corporate Sponsors: Ontario Power Generation, Bruce Telecom, Meridian Credit Union, the Co-operators, Power Workers’ Union and, Matchett Financial Services,” states Tiffany Love. “Both the silent and live auctions were huge successes this year due to the continued support of local businesses."
Women’s House was proud to host such a successful event and anticipates the upcoming International Women’s Day in March 4 of 2017. If you are interested in participating in our events or would like to make a donation to Women’s House, please contact Tiffany at (519)396-9814 Ex.225.
