Police investigating series of stolen and damaged vehicles

Stolen Vehicles and Vehicle windows smashed The Saugeen Shores Police Service is investigating a recent series of vehicle thefts and damage to vehicles.

October 27 2016, Saugeen Shores Police located a vehicle in the Maple Square Mall parking lot that had been reported by Kincardine OPP as stolen.

 November a 2016, a 1999 GMC Pickup was stolen from Clarendon St in Southampton. This vehicle was recovered in Owen Sound and a suspect is in custody for this matter. This incident is not related to the other stolen vehicles or property damage.

November 4 2016, a 2011 Nissan Murano was stolen from Highland St in Port Elgin.

 November 5 2016, this stolen Nissan was located in a laneway on Creekwood Dr in Southampton. From this same property a Toyota Tacoma was stolen.

 November 5 2016, the Toyota was recovered in a laneway in Port Elgin.

Over this same three day time period, police have investigated ten (10) vehicle entries where the side windows were broken out. Some of the vehicles had valuables in sight like purses and wallets. Other vehicles did not have a theft from within. Several other vehicles were entered and items were stolen.

All three of the stolen vehicles from Saugeen Shores had the keys left inside. Saugeen Shores Police are investigating these matters.

Please help us help you, 'Lock it or Lose it', donít leave your vehicles unlocked, donít leave valuables in your vehicle, donít leave your keys in your vehicle. Remember a person stealing a vehicle does not leave the scene in an orderly manner obeying all traffic laws. They could get into an accident while fleeing in your vehicle.
