At Monday night's Saugeen Shores Council Meeting, it was announced that another new doctor is coming to Saugeen Shores.

Family physician, Dr. Graeme Bock, will officially begin in January (2017), once he and his wife, Melissa, re-locate to the community.

Dr. Bock went to medical school at the University of British Columbia and completed his family medicine residency training at McMaster University's Niagara Regional Campus.

After spending two months of residency training in Saugeen Shores, Dr. Bock has now graduated and has decided to return to the community as an emergency room physician and working part-time with Dr. Michael Marriott's practice at the Dr. Earl Medical Centre in Port Elgin.

"We are very pleased that Dr. Bock is coming to our community," says Mayor Mike Smith, "and know that he will be a real asset to our new emergency room expansion at Saugeen Memorial Hospital."

"I would like to also give credit to our Doctor Recruitment Committee and its coordinator, Peggy Zeppieri and Bruce Power," said Councilor Mike Myatt, "she is doing a fantastic job in attracting doctors to our area."
