Lianne Wilson is a winner after her poster was chosen as the Elgin Market School winning poster of the Lions International Peace Poster Contest of 2016 in Kincardine.

Each year, Lions International sponsors the contest in local schools and youth groups to encourage young people to encourage their visions of peace.  Students ages, 11, 12 and 13 were eligible to participate up to November 15th.

Posters advance through judging levels that begin with local and proceed to district, multiple district and international.  At the international level, judges from the fields of art, peace, youth, education and media select one grand prize winner and 23 merit award winners.

The top international grand prize winner will receive $5,000US and a trip to the special award ceremony and each of the 23 merit award winners will received an award of $500US and certificate of achievement.
