Light the Way Day is only one week away!
98 The Beach radio in Saugeen Shores, a division of Bayshore Broadcasting, and the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation, are pleased to announce a special one-day Radiothon to help raise money for equipment at the hospital in Southampton.
Thursday, December 15th has been named Light the Way Day in Saugeen Shores.
Businesses and services in Port Elgin and Southampton will be displaying “Light the Way” signs to remind you to give generously to the $150,000 campaign.
98 the Beach, a part of Saugeen Shores since 2005, will be the site of the 12-hour Radiothon. 98 The Beach is the only local radio station in Saugeen Shores and its commitment to the community is exemplary. You can take part by calling in on December 15th between 6am and 6pm or by dropping into the station at 382 Goderich Street in Port Elgin.
Hospital Foundation volunteers will be answering phones and available in person to talk with donors.
“98 the Beach is honoured to be a part of this important fund raiser for such a worthy cause such as the Hospital Foundation,” said radio station Operations Manager Mike Brough.
The Radiothon also provides an opportunity to share stories – about patients, nurses, doctors, administrators and to highlight the difference that having a hospital in our local community makes to Saugeen Shores’ residents and visitors alike. Local residents are also invited to call in and talk about that special nurse or doctor or perhaps a special moment of care that they may have experienced at the Hospital.
Hospital Foundation Executive Director Sally Kidson says, “This generous community has always been a part of special fundraisers for good causes. Raising $150,000 through Light the Way, will help the hospital keep up to date with new equipment, making the local facility a first-rate health care hub in Bruce County.”
Mark down the date, Thursday, December 15th, 6am to 6pm, the 98 the Beach Radiothon for the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation.
