MPP for Huron-Bruce Lisa Thompson will be hosting a series of public meetings with Ontario's Hydro One Ombudsman, Fiona Crean, on January 12th to help answer questions residents have regarding their hydro bills.

"Ontario has some of the highest hydro rates in North America, with Hydro One customers officially paying the most as of 2016," said Thompson.

"This naturally raises a lot of questions for people, and I want to make sure that they have the opportunity to discuss their bills with the Hydro One Ombudsman - especially since the Liberals are seemingly staying the course with their mismanagement of the energy file."

Thompson will be holding two meetings on January 12th, with the first taking place at the Goderich Knights of Columbus Hall from 3:00pm - 4:30pm.

The second will be held at the Walkerton Agricultural Society Boardroom from 7:00pm - 8:30pm.

Both are open to the public, and will feature remarks from both Thompson and Crean, followed by a question-and-answer session.

"There is a constant stream of residents who come to me with questions and concerns about the costs of hydro and it is my job to ensure they are heard," said Thompson. "I look forward to this event, and look forward to providing an opportunity for residents to speak personally with Ontario's Hydro One Ombudsman."
