Two separate drug busts result in several charges laid

On Wednesday, January 11, 2017, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau Drug Enforcement Unit, with the assistance of West Region Emergency Response Team, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a property on Highway 21, Saugeen First Nations.

As a result of the execution of the search warrant and investigation, police seized cocaine, cannabis marihuana, and cannabis resin.  Police also seized offence related property that consisted of $1,205 cash and drug trafficking paraphernalia. The combined estimated value of the seized controlled substances was $1,250.00.

A 38 year old male of Saugeen First Nation is charged with 3 counts of trafficking cannabis marihuana, trafficking cannabis resin, possession of cannabis resin for the purposes of trafficking, possession of cocaine and possession of marihuana.

A 37 year old female is charged with possession of cannabis resin for the purposes of trafficking, possession of cocaine, and possession of marihuana. Both were released on a Promise to Appear and Officer in Charge Undertaking.

On Thursday, January 12, 2017, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau Drug Enforcement Unit and the West Region Emergency Response Team, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a property on McDowell Street, Dundalk, in the Township of Southgate. 

As a result of the execution of the search warrant, and the investigation, police seized hydromorphone pills, oxycodone pills, cannabis resin, and cannabis marihuana.  The estimated combined value of the seized controlled substances was $1,260.  Police also seized offence-related property that consisted of trafficking paraphernalia.

A 54 year old male of Dundalk is charged with 2 counts of trafficking oxycodone pills, possession of hydromorphone for the purposes of trafficking, possession of cannabis resin and possession of cannabis marihuana.

His wife, a 53 year old female of Dundalk is charged with trafficking oxycodone, trafficking hydromorphone, possession of hydromorphone for the purposes of trafficking, possession of cannabis resin, and possession of cannabis marihuana. They are both scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on February 16, 2017.

On January 5, 2017 at 2:29 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of an apartment fire in the 800 block of Queen Street, Kincardine. As a result of the investigation, 21-year-old Kody TACHAUER of Kincardine has been charged with arson, mischief under $5,000, utter threats and 2 counts of breach probation.  He was arrested without incident on January 12 and is currently in custody pending the results of a bail hearing scheduled for January 13, 2017.  There were no injuries reported at the scene. The South Bruce OPP is requesting anyone with information that can assist police to call 1-888-310-1122.

On January 10, 2017 at 7:00 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a single vehicle crash at the intersection of King Street and Main Street in Tiverton.  Officers arrived to find that a Brown Toyota Sienna van had struck a brick retaining wall located near the intersection.  The 17 year old driver was charged with careless driving.  There were no injuries reported at the scene.
