On February 16, 2017, at approximately 5:56 p.m., South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an address on Concession 14 East in the Municipality of Brockton in response to an injured male as a result of a single snowmobile collision. The incident occurred on private property.
Investigation revealed the male was operating a Yamaha RX1 snowmobile across an open field when he launched the snowmobile off a row of round bales and was ejected.
The victim, a 25-year old Brockton man, was air-lifted to a London hospital with life-altering injuries.
The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigative Unit (TTCI) attended the scene and is assisting with the investigation.
On February 16, 2017, at approximately 2:28 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an altercation in the parking lot of Home Hardware located on Hwy. 6 & 21 on the Sunset Strip in the Township of Georgian Bluffs which resulted in the arrest of a Kincardine man.
The victim, a 33-year old male from the Township of Georgian Bluffs, accompanied by his wife and children, were inside their parked vehicle when a Chevrolet Astro van pulled in and parked beside them.
The driver of the Astro van exited his vehicle and began yelling at the victim. The suspect then reached into the vehicle and began grabbing at the victim's hat. The suspect damaged both windshield wiper blades on the victim's vehicle, a Honda Odyssey van, before heading into the store with his wife.
A 68-year old male of Kincardine was arrested at the scene. He was charged with assault and mischief under $5,000.
He is scheduled to appear in court on March 3, 2017 in Owen Sound.
