The annual Saugeen Shores Polar Dip took place under sunny skies on Family Day, February 20th (2017) but it didn't make the water any warmer.

Saugeen Shores Fire Department was on hand (in the water) to ensure things ran smoothly as Saugeen Shores Lifesaving Club members leapt into the frigid waters of the Port Elgin Harbour.

The event is one of the Club's major FUNdraisers of the year where members gather pledges and donations that go toward lifesaving equipment and travel expenses to compete in competitions.

Members of the Club representing Saugeen Shores have competed and been medal winners in national and international lifesaving competitions and always welcome donations to help out.

The Polar Dip raised some $2,500 although a final total is not yet in.
