The Grade 3 PESC students sing and sign O'Canada as Winterhawks look on

At a recent Saugeen Shores WOAA Winterhawks play-off game, players and fans were treated to an unusual rendition of O'Canada.

The Grade 3 class from Port Elgin Saugeen Central School 'Wildcats' not only sang the anthem but also 'signed' the entire selection.

Students rehearsing sign language

According to teacher, Carol-Ann Slade, the students practiced learning to sign for several months until, February 11th when they performed.

The performance was exceptional with many in the arena expressing "delight" and "surprise" at the professional performance.

Each student was also excited to receive a special Winterhawks souvenir to take home.
