Violent robbery attempt results in arrests

Four young males from the area are each facing over a dozen criminal charges stemming from a robbery that took place in Clinton late February. 

Just before 10:00 p.m. on February 26th, 2017 Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to an Albert Street residence to investigate a robbery with violence. 

Eight occupants were inside the residence when four masked men barged into the residence brandishing an assortment of weapons. They demanded cash and drugs from the victims. 

One of the eight victims sustained a minor injury during the robbery. 

This week, as a result of a thorough investigation led by the Huron County OPP Crime Unit investigators arrested and charged four males with several offences.

  • A 37 year-old from Goderich has been charged with Robbery with Theft, Mischief Under $5,000, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Use Imitation Firearm While Committing Offence, Disguise With Intent, Possession of Marihuana and Assault With a Weapon (8) Counts. He was held in custody with a court appearance scheduled for today at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.
  • A 25 year-old from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh has been charged with Robbery with Theft, Mischief Under $5,000, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Use Imitation Firearm While Committing Offence, Disguise With Intent and Assault With a Weapon (8) Counts. He was released from custody today, his next court appearance is scheduled for April 3, 2017 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.
  • A 17-year-old male from Huron East has been charged with Robbery with Theft, Mischief Under $5,000, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Use Imitation Firearm While Committing Offence, Disguise With Intent and Assault With a Weapon (8) Counts. He remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for today at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.
  • A 15-year-old male from Huron East has been charged with Robbery with Theft, Mischief Under $5,000, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Use Imitation Firearm While Committing Offence, Disguise With Intent and Assault With a Weapon (8) Counts. He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for April 6, 2017 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.
