Despite no snow and unseasonably warm weather, the 15th annual Rotary 'Winterama' of Saugeen Shores was held on Saturday, February 25th.

The Winterhawks also 'passed the bucket' at their hockey game on Friday night against Clinton Radars at the Plex and, thanks to the fans, raised $500 for Winterama.

Rotarians keep track of pledges submitted

Area school students participated in fundraising through pledges and, under the 'Share back' program through Rotary each school with participating students receives a percentage of the dollars raised that goes to the Breakfast Program and other school projects.

G. C. Huston Public School of Southampton definitely came out on top raising $4,000, with more pledges to come in.  According to Principal Dan Russell, the school should raise $5,000 this year. 

Overall, this year's Winterama is expected to raise $20,000.
