Fitness Funatics is pulling out all the stops in a Fitness FUN Attack Finale!

For the past several years, Shelley Greig, owner/manager at Fitness Funatics has created an amazing fundraiser in support of the need to purchase equipment at the hospital.

Shelley Greig

Shelley believes in setting goals. She had always wanted to be a runner for many reasons – including the goal setting, fitness benefits and the sense of accomplishment when reaching a goal such as completing a running marathon.

But despite being physically fit and active, when Shelley tried running, she found that it was not something that her body was capable of doing. It drove her crazy!

Then, Shelley had an “a-ha!” moment and created the annual 'FUNattack' fundraiser for Saugeen Memorial Hospital. Participants take part in five tough hours of fitness classes with breaks and snacks in between. The classes include Spinning, Kickboxing, Pumping Muscle, TRX and Boot Camp! (& NO RUNNING!)

The FUNattack is now in its sixth and final year. So far, this amazing group has raised almost $50,000 for equipment. The money has been used to purchase a portable defibrillator transport unit, a pediatric crash cart, pediatric tonsil kits, Blood Bank Fridge, an infection control tent, and Patient lift.

The Southampton Hospital is currently undergoing renovations and will soon have a new Emergency Room area. This area is going to need new equipment! Shelley says, "Since this is our last and final FUNattack, we want to go out with a BANG and have set our goals high from our yearly $10,000 goal to $20,000!

Everyone is welcome to join in as a participant. For more information, visit ... www.smhfoundation.ca  OR www.fitnessfunatics.ca

The Foundation and Fitness Funatics are grateful to Little’s Furniture, Mowbray’s Canadian Tire, Port Elgin Home Hardware, Mensch, The Scandinave Spa, Southampton Golf Club, The Best You, Image Port, MS Chi-Cheemaun, (and the list is growing!) for their support in donating some AMAZING prizes for the participants who raise the most funds!
