Are you a GEM? Do you know what a GEM is? A GEM is a person who really, really cares about our Southampton hospital.

A GEM is someone who makes a commitment to Give Every Month to provide funds to purchase new equipment for our hospital and for patient care in our area.

“It’s how I give”, says Sally Kidson, Executive Director of the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation. “It’s easy and I can give a little bit each month that adds up to a lot more than I could likely afford to give at the end of the year.!”

GEMS are special to the Foundation, and as such are recipients of special “Ambassador Apparel” depending on their level of giving. (sketch of GEM apparel)A $50/month donation means a gift of a cozy sweatshirt, a $25/month donation means a great ball cap and a gift $10/month means a gift of a trendy bracelet. Wearing these items helps to promote the GEM program to others.

On Friday, March 24th, the staff at the Foodland in Southampton will be showcasing the ambassador apparel and sharing information on the GEM program with shoppers.

Foundation volunteers will be on hand from 10 am to 4 pm with information on the Hospital Construction plans and other ways to give.
