Public meeting to be held on Island St. Storm Water Sewer project

The Town of Saugeen Shores will be hosting a public meeting regarding the Island St. Storm Sewer Outlet Improvement Project. The public is encouraged to attend the Southampton Town Hall, on Tuesday, March 28th at 7:00 p.m. to learn more, provide comment and disc.uss project next steps.

"The municipality is committed to hearing from the public as we move forward with the study and project planning for the Island St. storm sewer project," said Adam Stanley, Manager of Engineering with the Town of Saugeen Shores.  

"The improvements will mitigate storm water impacts, while addressing ecological, public health and aesthetic concerns. We’re pleased to have worked in partnership with Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority (SVCA) as well as the Lake Huron Centre for Coastal Conservation in our project planning." Stanley added in a news release.  

The Island St. storm sewer outlet bisects the Southampton Chantry Dunes-beach Ecological System, located along the eastern shore of Lake Huron in the County of Bruce. The specific location is west of Harmer St., between the projected road allowances of Bay St. and Beach St. in Town of Saugeen Shores.
