Men of Grey and Bruce are once again being invited to put on a pair of women’s heels for charity in the 5th annual “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes®” fundraiser that is coming soon!
Bruce County men will take the pledge Sunday, May 28th at the Queen’s Bar & Grill in Port Elgin, while walkers in Owen Sound will step into their heels on Sunday, June 4th at Harrison Park.
The Hanover Rotary Club is also hosting a walk that will take place on father’s day weekend, and will support both shelters!
The proceeds of ‘Walk a Mile in Her Shoes®’ benefits the shelters in the county in which the event takes place. The Port Elgin event will support the Women’s House Serving Bruce and Grey, and the Owen Sound event will support The Women’s Centre Grey & Bruce Inc.
Last year, over $20,000 was raised to benefit the two shelters. This high-profile fundraiser has been “walking” all over North America.
Men will champion to end woman abuse and sexual violence by walking the walk and talking the talk by asking friends, family, co-workers and workplaces to sponsor them through pledges.
We are looking for community minded men who are brave enough to walk a mile in a pair of women’s heels to bring awareness to the need to end violence against women. This is a great venue to challenge another workplace in your area.
The shoes of all sizes are prepared and it is a fun family day for all.
Will you step into heels and take the pledge to end violence against women?
