Clinton:

Shortly before 1:00 p.m. today (Mar. 29) Huron County OPP were called about a train derailment that had just taken place at the southern edge of Clinton.   

Police learned that nine westbound Goderich-Exeter Railway containers left the tracks near the intersection of Bayfield Road (County 13) & King Street in Clinton.

 The goods being transported were not dangerous goods and all of the cars remained upright.   

Access to and from Clinton via Bayfield Road (County 13) and Devon Street was not possible for some time.

Goderich:

In Goderich, members of the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit, Technological Crime Unit and the Huron County Detachment arrested and charged a Goderich man following an on-line undercover child pornography investigation.

On March 23, 2017, police executed a search warrant at a Goderich residence. As a result of this investigation, two computers and external media were seized which contained images of child sexual abuse.

Police arrested a 41year-old male of Goderich and  charged him with two counts of Possession of Child Pornography, one count of Make Available Child Pornography and one count of Accessing Child Pornography.

The accused will appear on April 10, 2017 in the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich, Ontario.

Greenock Twp:

On March 26, 2017 at 7:58 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a theft report from a residence along Side road 5 in Greenock Township. Approximately 6:00 a.m. on March 26, 2017, White GMC Sierra pick-up truck licence #AP86532 was taken. The value of the stolen truck is estimated to be more than $6,000.

The South Bruce OPP is requesting anyone with information that can assist police to call 1-888-310-1122.
