From fresh smoothies, mouthwatering stuffed pretzels and healthy wraps to baked goods, loose leaf tea and gourmet coffee, I Luv Juicy Smoothie and Juice Bar has it all.

The family-run company has set up shop in it’s new location in Port Elgin located at 544 Goderich Street in what was formerly Ralph's Shopette Gift Shop.

Owners Taylor McKay and Chris Hammer are thrilled to announce that I Luv Juicy will be open to the public this Friday (April 14) at 10 a.m.

"We are a fast food alternative that you can feel good about," McKay said in an interview Monday morning.

She said the company’s motto, "Be Good To Your Body" rings true through it’s menu with a focus on helping people take care of their bodies with a healthier fast food alternative, offering products that do not contain any additives, preservatives, or unnatural sugars.

"People are always out and about here," McKay continued. "There are always people on their bikes, walking on the trails, swimming at the beach… and you burn a lot of energy doing that, so why not be able to enjoy a nice cool treat that is healthy for your body."

I Luv Juicy was created in 2004 when McKay’s aunt Dottie Laurie "... was tired of only being able to go to a chain restaurant to get a smoothie that she could make better at home."  It was then that Dottie and her husband Dick decided to make a "different and healthier option for people" in the small city of Chatham where the pilot store opened.

"My aunt has really researched how to take care of your body and the different portions for men and women….so we can be confident that we won’t be feeding our customers something unhealthy," said McKay.

The store’s grand opening will be held on Saturday (May 20) where McKay said they will be handing out samples, gift certificates, holding some draws and more.

Store hours: Monday to Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
