No foul play suspected in investigation of female body found

On Friday, April 14, 2017 shortly after 3:30 p.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a farm property located on London Road just north of Blyth after an adult female body was found lying in a farmer's field.

Members from the Huron County OPP Crime Unit, OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS) and Office of the Chief Coroner attended the scene to assist with the investigation.

A post mortem examination was completed and foul play is not suspected and there is no threat to public safety.  The deceased has been indentified as Caitline Atkin, 31, of North Huron.


On April 11, 2017 at 8:31 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a theft report from a residence along Union Street in Teeswater. Sometime between 8:00 a.m. on April 11, 2017 and 8:00 p.m. on April 11, 2017, a Dark Green Arctic Cat TRV 500 All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) was taken from the property. 

The ATV doesn't have a licence plate, but the serial number is on file with police. There is no estimate on the value of the stolen ATV available at this time.  

The South Bruce OPP is requesting anyone with information that can assist police to call 1-888-310-1122.
