As an elementary school teacher, Wendy Cumming was always being told by parents that she was            "... more than a teacher, she was a motivator".

Today, Wendy Cumming is also an author with her first published children's book.

Cumming, the mother of two, is currently on a leave of absence from her teaching job.

"I had this idea to write a children's book that would encourage children to think positive thoughts and, hopefully, to inspire young readers," says Cumming.  "I had storyboards around the house and, then, one night it all came to me and I began to write until it was completed."

Now, the author's work, 'How to Soar like an Eagle when you are Standing with Turkeys' has been published by Xlibris and is available on-line through Barns & Noble and Amazon.

Working closely with an illustrator-artist, the book features vibrant pictures that complement the easy-to-read text and that will appeal to readers ... of all ages.

The book is also available in limited quantities at her husband's business, Crabby Joe's restaurant, in Port Elgin and Cumming already has an idea for her next book.
