The sands of time

Once again, it was Oscar time [the 82nd annual, and the ever-famous Barbara Walters Special.

In her last special after 29 years, Walters interviewed actor Sandra Bullock as her last guest, and the tables were turned.

Bullock asked Walters, if she could have anything in five years what would it be.  Walters' reply was simple, "Time."

Time is something we all ask for.  On Saturday, March 6th, two young men crashed into a tree in Port Elgin .  For one of them, it was the end of time, as it was for his dog.

Also, on Saturday, the friends of Horace Parker of Port Elgin celebrated his life, which ran out of time at the age of 90.  They say that the measure of a man is told by the friends has made. For 'Hoary', almost 200 old friends turned out to pay tribute to the man.

One of those friends, Bill McDonald, celebrated his own 92nd birthday on March 7th, the day after his friend Hoary's celebration of life.

Time is ephemeral ... a wisp that floats through life and then disappears.

No-one knows when the thread of time will be cut and, therefore, each minute of every day is a treasure.
