Here are some of the comments, but not all.  Most people just vote and don't comment.

  • Costs thrown around are not   realistic to have entire tax base  cover a very small percentage of the   population who use this facility. Many   other projects are more worthy.

  • No. Keep in mind how many homes in   Saugeen Shores have pools? Will these   families make use of this pool? Why   should they help fund this building thru taxes.

  • Unfortunately some of us cannot afford  any new taxes as they already too high.

  • Why not make it user pay at the door?

  • Existing pool is central for the  students to walk to from schools

  • Existing pool needs evening programs for  those of us who work in the day besides  lane swims.

  • Taxes are too high without another burden

  • Existing pool too small for people using

  • Replace, if not  existing pool fine

  • The town will be in debt for far to   long to pay for the new pool.

  • Existing pool too small for people   using replace. If not  existing pool  fine

  • Please let me pay for the sewers first   before we spend more money. I am broke

  • I have been a member of many   clubs/organizations and this is the only facility that doesn't apparently have to fund itself. Why is this?

  • Spend $3 million or $10 million?   Should be a no brainer but given how   this council loves to spend our money.  I have no doubt they will pick the most expensive option.

  • Fix existing pool. If fixing it is  infeasible go with next technically, financially & economically feasible option.

  • This community needs to have a   community pool.

  • We can't afford a new pool. Better and  far cheaper to provide public transit. Think about it when we have a decent   transit system in Saugeen Shores. It's   time to do something useful for the   older people in the area.

  • What is the actual number of people  using the existing pool?  What percentage is that of the   population?

  • Use Lake Huron. I don't want a government bureaucrat between me and the lifeguard.

  • Why is the question of whether we  actually need a new pool is always  being asked? Of course we do.

  • We need a pool with  easy access by the disabled and  elderly. Water is wonderful therapy.

  • As a person with a young family it is very important to me to have a place where my kids can take swimming lessons. Particularly since we live so close   to the lake.

  • A pool is essential in a thriving town's ability to attract and retain families doctors and professionals. Don't   mess this up  we need a new pool!!!

  • It is a must that Saugeen Shores has a   pool available to its residents. I  really hope the town council and staff   takes this seriously. It would be a  shame if this is turned down.

  • Add a new pool to the plex with  walking track just get on with it Over   a year of talking . We could have been   enjoying and using the pool by NOW

  • There is no guarantee that the high  school will remain at it's current  location so it needs to be replaced.   The Plex is the most obvious and cost  efficient option.

  • We denifitely need a new pool.   Breakers is an outstanding   organization with an embarassing  pool.

  • This town wastes money on crap and what we need we cannot get.

  • We need a pool just as much as we needed  an arena stop being so CHEAP people!

  • I think it would be great to keep our sports centres in a centrally located  area.

  • I would like to see an indoor walking track incorporated with the new design as well.
