Montgomery Ford in Kincardine, and the Kincardine and District Minor Soccer Club are teaming up to host the Drive 4 UR Community event Saturday, June 1, at the Davidson Centre.
Come out and test-drive any of the 10 - 2013 Ford vehicles available, and $20 will be donated to Kincardine Minor Soccer.
The more test-drives, the more money will be raised - up to $6,000. Plus, soccer games will be going on all day for the players.
The event was inspired by Gord Kemp, service manager at Montgomery Ford and coach co-ordinator for the soccer club this year.
As coach co-ordinator, he will be working with more than 150 volunteers to coach and manage more than 600 participants playing soccer in the Kincardine area. Commitment to the community inspired Kemp to partner with Ford Canada and minor soccer for this fund-raising event.
"I am happy to say that Kincardine Minor Soccer will be hosting the event, called Drive to the Net, Saturday,
"It will be a full day of soccer games and skills clinics for al our players and teams, and we are encouraging the parents to have some fun, and raise some money for our club by taking a test-drive. Each test-drive taken will result in Ford Canada handing the club $20."
The event runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with Ford Canada providing the vehicles to test-drive, and Montgomery Ford providing staff to answer any questions about the vehicles.
Kemp hopes Kincardine will bring in the maximum donation.
"The money will be put to good use, replacing some aging equipment and paying for facility improvements," he says. "It's just a great opportunity for Montgomery's and Ford Canada to give back to Kincardine."
So, let's kick it up a notch!
June 1, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Davidson Centre.
