If you're finding the heat a bit overwhelming and are looking for a place to cool off, there is a public space available to you ... besides the beach, of course.

As of Wednesday, July 17, Kincardine has officially set up the Davidson Centre as a cooling centre. People are welcome to enjoy the air-conditioned surroundings from
6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

There is no designated cooling centre in Huron-Kinloss Township.

Other areas, such as Hanover, Owen Sound and London, have set up cooling centres to assist those who don't have air-conditioning in their homes, particularly the young, the elderly and people with respiratory conditions.

The hot, humid conditions are expected to continue for the rest of the week.
