Monica Gilbert woke up Saturday morning to what she thought was thunder. And since it was 7:30 a.m. and pitch black outside, she paid no heed to the noise.

Later that morning, the homeowner on Princes Street, Kincardine, was shocked to see a huge branch from the neighbour's maple tree had fallen across her back deck, causing extensive damage.

She believes the heavy wind Friday night must have blown down the branch which not only damaged the deck, but the air-conditioner underneath it.

Gilbert said that Brad Savage of Savage Brothers Tree Removal, was bringing a crew in to remove the branch, and she hopes she can convince her neighbour to have the tree removed as well.
