The annual Labour Day weekend fireworks display that marks the end of summer in Saugeen Shores was held Sunday, September 2nd at the Port Elgin Harbour.

Although the display itself is marked in minutes, the actual set-up takes hours by expert pyro-technicians.  The experts with Victory Fireworks out of Toronto, create firework displays throughout southwestern Ontario.

"We set up displays in a wide variety of venues," says company owner, Joe Rastin, "from smaller rural communities to cities such as Hamilton."

This year's display was more extensive in celebration of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.  "It is also the first time we have been asked to post a 'marriage proposal'," said Rastin, whose fireworks display said, "Marry Me Bailee".
