Bruce County Library Director, Ken MacLeod has died. He passed away at the Grey-Bruce Health Services Owen Sound location after a two-year illness, just months after he assumed the role of director of the Bruce County library system.

When MacLeod assumed the role of Executive Director, retiring director Marzio Apolloni said that the library system would "... be in good hands.  We worked together for 10 years and not once did we even have a disagreement."

Upon learning of MacLeod's death, Apolloni said, "Ken was incredibly courageous and humorous with a dry English style of humour.  No one could ask for a better friend or a better co-worker.  To him, the truth and fairness were really important."

Ken was a Port Elgin native who will be missed by many friends and co-workers from the Library. He was 54 years old and leaves his wife Norma, and daughter Lia.

The family sends a special thank you to all of the Doctors and Nurses who treated Ken over the past two years. Private family arrangements have been entrusted to T.A. Brown Funeral Home, 510 Mill Street, Port Elgin, 519-832-2222.

Memorial donations to Grey Bruce Health Services Owen Sound would be appreciated by the family
