With the severe weather impacting southwestern Ontario, most highways and secondary roads have been declared closed by police.

Thinking of taking your chances and travel anyway?  Think again.

If you are caught driving on a closed road in Ontario, the fine is $110 and three (3) demerit points.  In addition, if involved in a collision, your insurance is null and void.

Besides taking a personal risk, a driver who chooses to drive on a closed road is also interfering with road crews and any rescue personnel that may be needed will have to be paid for out-of-pocket.

Still want to drive on a 'closed road'?
