Top public  speakers at Ripley-Huron Community School

Students at Ripley-Huron Community School have been working hard on public speaking in the new year.  

All students had the opportunity of speaking in front of their class, and then class representatives were chosen to compete in the gym.  

Congratulations to all students for their excellent efforts, and especially to the winners who are as follows:

Primary Story Telling (Grades 1-3)

  1. Owen Nixon
  2. Lauren White
  3. Eve Snobelen

Junior Speeches (Grades 4-6)

  1. Carson Rutledge
  2. Kate Leppington
  3. Sarah Cassidy

Top Junior speakers, are Carson Rutledge (L), Kate Leppington and Sarah Cassidy

Intermediate Speeches (Grades 7-8)

  1. Annie Leppington
  2. Serena Rutledge
  3. Madison Beishuizen

The top three finishers in both the Junior and Intermediate divisions were invited to speak at the Ripley-Huron Legion contest Sunday, Feb. 16.  

First-place finishers in Junior and Intermediate divisions will compete at the district level March 3 at École Elgin Market Public School, Kincardine.
