Story Time and Craft (Both Branches) – Join us for a fun FREE preschool story time program, including songs, games, stories and general silliness followed by a craft! Adults must stay for the program. Story Time is at the Kincardine Branch on Thursdays at 1:30 p.m. and at the Tiverton Branch on Fridays at 11 a.m.

Saturday Stories (Kincardine) – Join one of our student pages for some tales on Saturday mornings in the Kincardine Branch at 10:30 a.m.

BOOK CLUBS

Lug-a-Mug Book Club (Kincardine) meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 2 p.m. March’s discussion is “The Cuckoos Calling” by Robert Galbraith.

The Other Book Club (Tiverton) meets the second Thursday of the month at 2:30 p.m. The group is discussing “King Leary” by Paul Quarrington on 
March 13.

Crazy for Classics Book Club (Kincardine) meets the last Friday every other month and is discussing “Women In Love” by D.H. Lawrence on March 28 at 2 pm.

Kids and ‘Tween Book Club (Kincardine) – Both book clubs for our younger patrons were on hiatus during the winter. We are set to restart new novels March 4. Pre-registration is REQUIRED for both programs and is accepted only until the program starts.

The Kids’ Club is for children, ages five to eight, with “Flora & Ulysses” by Kate DiCammillo (catch the book trailer at: www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6cdkkJvgaA) in parts aloud, followed by a craft project and snack.

The Tween Club is intended for youth, ages nine to 12, and involves the children reading independently and discussing the novels chosen (all choices by author Janet Lunn), along with co-ordinating activities … and a snack.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Story Stretchers (Kincardine) – Join the staff from the Ontario Early Years Centre, Kincardine site, at the library as they present a fun evening of early literacy activities for our young friends. Appropriate for children under the age of seven with an adult. No registration required for this FREE program that runs the first Tuesday of each month during the school year. Drive In” Movie (Kincardine) – Join us for a super fun experience like you’ve never seen as we MAKE cars out of boxes to use while we watch a movie (and have snacks of course!). Pre-registration is required for this FREE event for youngsters, ages two to seven.

PA Day Fun! (Both Branches) - Pop in to the Tiverton Branch for some Lego fun or to the Kincardine Branch for Lego OR Wii …..all day long! Kick off March Break at your library.

Luck o’ The Irish Story Time, Craft & Snack (Kincardine) – Get ready for our annual Irish celebration as we throw a fun preschool party! Wear your green and join us for stories, songs, games, crafts and snacks. Registration is required for this FREE event.

Science program (Kincardine) - We are THRILLED to be hosting a fantastic, hands-on outreach science program put on by the students of the University of Guelph. Suitable for youth, ages seven to 12, this FREE program will kick off March Break in a grand way on SUNDAY, MARCH 9!! You can get your tickets from either the Kincardine or the Tiverton branches. Tickets are FREE, but you will require a ticket for admission. Space is LIMITED!

Science-tastic Spring Break” (Both Branches) – Come on out and see what fun science can be! Every day there will be a different experiment to try out on your own, and on Friday, we’ll set out a bunch of cool activities to investigate. Tuesday: Magnets, Wednesday: Magnifying, Thursday: Sounds, Friday: Try all the experiments, and join us for some messier ones at 1 p.m. Also, all during open hours, our Lego will be set up in the children’s department for use.

Spring Break Wrap-Up Matinee Movie – Join in on your last day of your break for a fun family movie. “Free Birds” will play on March 16 at 1:30 p.m. in Kincardine. Feel free to bring your snacks along!

 


DIY” Workshop (Kincardine) – Drop in to the Kincardine Branch for a fun Do-It-Yourself station and let your creativity shine! Kids, ages seven to 12 will enjoy this chance to create on Saturday, March 29 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wonder what we’re doing?.....you’ll have to pop in and see!

Adult Matinee Movies (Both Branches) – Back by popular demand, we are showing movies the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at Kincardine Branch and 1st & 3rd Thursday in Tiverton. Service Canada (Kincardine) – Outreach office for Service Canada (10 a.m. to Noon; 12:30-3 p.m.) is available as a service to our community. These offices are drop-in services only and do not take appointments or phone calls while in our branch.

Knit Happens (Kincardine) – An unstructured, informal opportunity for knitters and needlework enthusiasts meets at the library for fellowship and fun while working on their projects. If you are interested in learning more or joining in, please contact the library or stop by on Friday mornings.

Gardening Workshop (Kincardine) – Back by popular demand, our workshop to get you started on your garden this spring! Again, there will be a focus on organics. Registration is required for this FREE program. A maximum of 15 participants accepted. Call or drop in to the library today to reserve your spot!
