"Eva" and "Smokey" took centre stage at Pet Valu in downtown Kincardine during Cozy Cat Day at the store Saturday afternoon.

The two cats are available for adoption, along with a third one who was too shy to come and meet the public, said Helga Szekely, owner of Cozy Cat Kennels.

People had a chance to check out Eva and Smokey and ask questions about their health and their care.

Of the five cats Szekely had available earlier this year, three have been adopted to good homes. She has taken in another one, so has a total of three up for adoption:

"Smokey" is about two-and-a-half years old, male, very gentle, has a heart murmur but still deserves a chance at a decent life. He was abandoned probably for this reason. Often cats with this condition will live a regular life.

"Eva" is a seven-month-old brown with white tabby cat. She is friendly and playful and came from Underwood.

is a two-and-a-half-year-old black, short-haired female cat who is very gentle.

All cats are tested for FIV/FeLV (leukemia and feline AIDS), vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and micro-chipped. They also have no parasites.

There is a fee of $100 for each cat that is adopted, to help cover expenses.

If you have room in your home and your heart to welcome a healthy cat, contact Szekely at Cozy Cat Kennels, 18 Inverlyn Cres., Kincardine, 519-396-3232.
