Story Time & Craft (Both Branches) – Join us for a fun FREE preschool story time program including songs, games, stories and general silliness followed by a craft! Adults must stay for the program. Story Time is at the Kincardine Branch on Thursdays at 1:30 p.m. and at the Tiverton Branch on Fridays at 11 a.m.
Saturday Stories (Kincardine) – Join one of our student pages for some tales on Saturday mornings in the Kincardine Branch at 10:30.
Lug-a-Mug Book Club (Kincardine) meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 2 p.m. April’s discussion is “Above All Things” by Tanis Rideout.
The Other Book Club (Tiverton) meets the second Thursday of the month at 2:30 p.m. The group is discussing “The Indian Horse” by Richard Wagamese.
Crazy for Classics Book Club (Kincardine) meets the last Friday every other month. Next meeting: May 30 at 2 p.m.
Kids and ‘Tween Book Club (Kincardine) – Both book clubs continue on in the month of April (for our already-registered groups). They will end mid-May, followed by a wrap-up party. The next kids & 'tweens book clubs will start in September. Keep an eye out for some special Tuesday evening events coming up in May & June!
Story Stretchers (Kincardine) – Join the staff from the Ontario Early Years Centre, Kincardine site, at the library as they present a fun evening of early literacy activities for our young friends. Appropriate for children under seven years of age, with an adult. No registration required for this FREE program that runs the first Tuesday of each month during the school year. ***NEW CLUB*** Rainbow Loomers’ Club (Kincardine) – By overwhelming request, following our “Wacky Weavers” program, we kick off our brand new club for all our young Rainbow Looming patrons! Stop in, bring your loom, try out ours, and learn from each other! Come and create at your library!
Seedy Saturday (Kincardine) – Back by popular demand, our seed exchange day has returned. Pop in between 10 a.m. and noon upstairs with your unused seeds and swap for some you need. Remember to bring along some containers to put seeds in.
Easter EGG-stravaganza (Kincardine) – Register before April 10 for this fun story time, craft and snack preschool party to celebrate the season! Don’t miss out, sign up at the Kincardine branch today!
Early School Dismissal Day – WEDNESDAY, APRIL 9 – As always, no school means more fun at the library. Pop in for Lego Club when you get let out early that day, right up until 4 p.m., then stick around to watch a showing of the second Hunger Games movie “CATCHING FIRE” at 4 p.m.
Earth Day – April 22 – Stop in between 4-5 p.m. and make a bird feeder to show some love to our feathered friends. No registration required.
Drop-In “DIY” Workshop (Kincardine) – Kick off “Turn Off The Screens” week with a fun, drop-in Do-It-Yourself station at Kincardine branch. Let your creativity shine! Kids, ages seven to 12, will enjoy this chance to create on Saturday, April 19 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wonder what we’re doing?.....you’ll have to pop in and see!
“Turn Off The Screens” Week (both branches) – Pop in to either branch and have some screen-free fun. There will be activities set up all day, every day so there’s no shortage of entertainment without your TV/Computer/Video Game! Check out things like: sidewalk chalk, lego club, craft activities, word searches & word finds, treasure hunts, riddles, board games and more! No registration required.
Chalk-It-Up (both branches) – Back again to enjoy in the sunshine, we will have sidewalk chalk and other outdoor fun set up in front of the library. Pop in Mondays in Tiverton, and Wednesday in Kincardine (weather permitting). If Mother Nature is on our side, we may start earlier in April.
Adult Matinee Movies (Both Branches) – Back by popular demand, we are showing movies the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at Kincardine Branch and 1st and 3rd Thursday in Tiverton. Join us as we show “Nebraska” on the 1st & 3rd and “Title TBA” on the 15th & 17th (titles subject to change). Service Canada (Kincardine) – Outreach office for Service Canada (10 a.m. to Noon, and 12:30-3 p.m.) is available as a service to our community. These offices are drop-in services only and do not take appointments or phone calls while in our branch.
**NEW TIME*** Knit Happens (Kincardine) – An unstructured, informal opportunity for knitters and needlework enthusiasts - meets at the library for fellowship and fun while working on their projects. If you are interested in learning more or joining in, please contact the library or stop by on WEDNESDAY EVENINGS.
