In grade 12 at Saugeen District Secondary School (SDSS) in Port Elgin, Patrick Quirk has begun to catch the attention of the music industry.

Quirk produced a music video based on a song by the Canadian group, The New Cities.  Quirk shot, edited and uploaded his video on to You Tube where The New Cities spotted it.   The band's label, Sony, contacted Quirk and invited him to meet with the band in Toronto.

"It was amazing," says Quirk.  "I met with the band and they were great.  They really liked some of the technical stuff I did on the video."

Locally, Quirk has produced short video-mercials for local companies, such as Holiday Golf Course and, in his last year of high school, Quirk is looking at continuing his education at Ryerson or Humber College in Toronto.

"We are very excited about Patrick's prospects," says Quirk's mother, Wendy, who is also a hobby photographer and has been working with her son on his videos.
