Particularly moving was the tribute paid to the young men and women of the Canadian Forces who have paid the supreme sacrifice both past and present.

The Reviewing Officer was Saugeen Shores Chief of Police, Dan Rivet, whose son Tom served as an Air Cadet with the Squadron before joining the Canadian Forces.  In his address, the Chief encourage the cadets to explore the opportunities that being a cadet will bring.

"Everyone standing beside you," said Rivett, "is like-minded and will gravitate to the same things and it's great to see.  Always keep you eyes open for the many different opportunities.  In grade 12, you hve to decide where you are going to go to school and one of those opportunities is to go to RMC (Royal Military College), the Canadian equivalent of West Point.  There have been several from this area, such as Andrew and Sara Champion and my son, Tom, who have gone into the Canadian Forces and who have gained a professional education."
